Learn moreHow to Create a Relaxing Home With Color That Still Pops
There’s a common misconception that calming spaces have to be neutral, pale, or stripped of personality however, serenity doesn’t have to mean boring. In fact, some of the most peaceful rooms still include color, contrast, and visual energy. The key? Intentionality. Rather than relying solely on traditional color psychology; blue equals calm, red equals striking, start by asking: How do certain colors make me feel? The emotional response to color is deeply personal. For some, a dusty mauve might feel grounding. For others, a deep forest green evokes quiet luxury. Even vibrant tones can feel soothing when paired with tactile materials, balanced lighting, and thoughtful proportions. Color doesn’t need to be loud to be expressive and calm doesn’t have to be beige.
Learn moreWhat’s Trending Now: Design with Intention
Forget trends that feel like trends. The new wave of interior design is less about chasing what’s next and more about living with intention. At Eichholtz Manhattan, we’re seeing a new mood emerge; immersive, tactile, and striking. Here’s what’s trending and how to make it yours. Emotional Maximalism Curated abundance; rooms layered with memory, travel, texture, and story. Think worn-in leather next to high-gloss lacquer. Portraiture next to abstract sculpture. It’s about spaces that feel collected, not styled. Bronze Is the New Black Matte black had its moment. Now, designers are leaning into the moody glow of bronze; aged, brushed, or darkly polished. It’s warmer than black, richer than gold, and endlessly versatile. Artisan Revival We’re seeing a rise in bold, theatrical elements: oversized lighting, sculptural furniture, gallery-style art walls, and unexpected scale. Visit our Chelsea showroom to explore these new design directions in person, and discover furnishings that feel as classic as you are.

When the days get longer and the city starts to glow, there’s no better time to embrace the light, warmth, and ease of summer living. At Eichholtz Manhattan, we believe your home should reflect the season — not just in color, but in energy, atmosphere, and function. Here's how to create a space that feels effortless, elegant, and ready for every golden hour.Lighten Up Your Palette Embrace Airy Layouts Summer is the perfect excuse to pare back the heavy tones of winter and introduce a softer, sun-drenched palette. Think sandy neutrals, pale woods, crisp whites, and muted pastels. Incorporate textiles like linen and cotton that feel cool to the touch and allow rooms to breathe. Swap out dark throw pillows or rugs for lighter-toned accents. Our Eichholtz Manhattan showroom features neutral-toned upholstery with sculptural details that still make a statement, perfect for seasonal transitions. Embrace Airy Layouts Summer living is all about openness. Rearrange furniture to invite better flow and light through your space. Float a lounge chair near the window. Pull dining tables away from the wall. Let your home breathe the way you want to during a rooftop brunch or a lazy Sunday read. Replace bulky coffee tables with glass or acrylic designs to maintain visual openness. Eichholtz’s Florence Table and Volante Chairs are NYC-friendly pieces that feel as airy as they look. Bring Nature In Even in the heart of Manhattan, your home can feel connected to the outdoors. Fresh greenery, large-scale florals, or botanical art help bring summer’s vibrancy indoors. At Eichholtz, we’ve always believed that great design is timeless; a living conversation between history, craftsmanship, and contemporary culture. That belief comes to life in our collaboration with one of the world’s most iconic institutions: The Metropolitan Museum of Art. On Monday, July 14th, 18th Street Design Collective and Janovic welcomed design lovers, industry tastemakers, and showroom partners for an intimate evening of Summer Bites & Bubbly at Eichholtz Manhattan. Set against the timeless elegance of our Chelsea showroom, the event brought together leading brands in textiles, paints, and window treatments—including Phillip Jeffries, Farrow & Ball, Hunter Douglas, Portola, Benjamin Moore, and Inside Blinds.
