HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Side Table Bowery pays homage to a table (1890–1905) in The Met’s American Wing, designed by Louis C. Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) for Tiffany Studios. The original table bears aesthetic references to collapsible ancient Greek and Roman stands, as well as Near Eastern sources in its tapered legs. Furniture by Tiffany Studios counts among the most eclectic and innovative designs created between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
