Brown Velvet Bench Hampshire
Brown Velvet Bench Hampshire
Discover The Met x Eichholtz Hampshire bench, a modern reinterpretation of elegant Georgian furniture.
The Hampshire bench features a straight-legged silhouette and shapely sides for an effortlessly sleek finish. Upholstered in Sonoma brown velvet, the interplay of deep fabric and dark wood details in a rich eucalyptus finish honors the craft tradition from which the design was inspired. This special piece looks great as a window seat or as a piece placed at the end of a bed.
INSPIRATION
This elegant piece was inspired by an 18th-century window seat from The Met collection, crafted in Britain around 1770–80. Intended as part of a Neoclassical-style furniture set, the window seat was originally supplied to politician Edward Morant for Brockenhurst Park, his estate in Hampshire, England.
