This gorgeous set of 2 Ammonite Objects with vintage brass finish, representing Perisphinctes ammonite fossils. Ammonites were prehistoric marine animals with a coiled shell. They became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 66 million years ago, at roughly the same time as the dinosaurs disappeared. The objects are each mounted on a grey marble base.
